Estela Martín

Estela Martín Badosa received her BSc and PhD degrees in Physics from the Universitat de Barcelona, in 1992 and 1998, respectively, and her BSEE in 2003. She did a post-doctoral stay at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France (1999-2001), where she worked in 3D tomography image processing for biomedical applications. Since 2006, she is an associate professor at the Universitat de Barcelona, where she is the co-leader of the research group Optical Trapping Lab – Grup de Biofotònica (BiOPT, http://biopt.ub.edu). Her research interests include optical tweezers, spatial light modulators, digital holography, and applications of optical manipulation in biological problems. She has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals (source: Web of Science) and holds one patent, and has supervised or co-supervised four PhD thesis and many master thesis projects. She is an editorial board member of Scientific Reports.
