Jose A. Lazaro

Jose A. Lazaro received his BS-MSc degree in Physics from the University of Zaragoza in 1993 and his PhD from the same University in 1999. He joined Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria de Telecomunicació de Barcelona (ETSETB – TelecomBCN) of the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC) as Ramon-y-Cajal Researcher. Previously, he was Senior Researcher at the Optical Transmission and Broadband technologies Laboratory (TOYBA) of the Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A, Spain) and R&D; Engineer in ALCATEL-LUCENT in Stuttgart (Germany) at the Dept. of Passive Optical Components (2000-2002) and of High Speed Transmission Systems (2002-2004). He has been participating in several European and National Research Projects on optical transmission, monitoring, sub-systems and access networks. He is co-author of several book chapters, more than 150 international publications and more than 15 patents. He is also responsible at Barcelona Telecommunications School for ERASMUS program as Vice-Dean for International Relations of TelecomBCN.
