Meritxell Vilaseca

Meritxell Vilaseca is an Associate professor at the Universitat Politècnica deCatalunya (UPC). She obtained a degree in Optics and Optometry from the UPC in 1996, in Physics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2000, and a PhD in Optical Engineering from the UPC in 2005. She teaches courses related with vision and color sciences. She is a researcher at the CD6 (Center for Sensors, Instruments, and Systems Development) of the UPC. Her research interests range from visual optics and biophotonics to color technology and spectral imaging. She has authored more than 30 journal papers and holds 3 patents. She has participated in more than 50 research projects (public and privately funded) and presented more than 100 communications in international and national conferences. She has directed two PhD theses and is currently supervising six predoctoral students. At present, she is associate editor of the JCR-indexed Journal of Imaging Science and Technology and a member of the TC8 -07 Technical Committee of the 8th Division of the CIE (International Commission on Illumination) "Multispectral Imaging" and the Spanish Optical Society.
