Abstract: The use of lasers when neglecting basic safety measures may cause skin burns, partial loss of vision and even blindness. Most accidents are, unfortunately, due to negligence. It is imperative to raise awareness about the risks especially when using Class 3B and 4 lasers. In a practical approach, this lecture will explain the classes of lasers, provide examples of the risks when adjusting laser beams, as well as basic safety measures, which includes safety barriers and laser safety eyewear.
