Mar 30, 2026
The Europhotonics Spring School 2026 recently concluded its four-day program in the scenic coastal town of Sitges, Barcelona. Hosted at the Hotel Sunway Playa Golf from March 23–26, the event brought together the International Master in Photonics community for a blend of high-level academia and professional networking where students enjoyed a collaborative atmosphere.
The program featured diverse plenary sessions, including Angel Lizana on biological tissue imaging, Uli Lemmer on inkjet-printed photonics, Estela Martín on shaping light and David Hunger on quantum networks, among others.
A core component was the CARLA CAMP Project, which hosted a panel dedicated to Careers in Photonics as well as talks given by former students of the master, to help students navigate their future professional paths.
Sessions also addressed critical industry topics like Gender Balance in Photonics, while students actively participated in a dedicated poster session to showcase their own work.
