International Day of Light 2020 (May 14): Light Research Café: Junior Explosion! CANCELLED

Within the framework of the Spanish event to celebrate the International Day of Light 2020, the Terrassa Campus Library of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the Young Area of the Spanish Optical Society (SEDOPTICA) have organised an event for young researchers called Light Research Café: Junior Explosion! It will take place on 14th May 2020 morning at the UPC Campus Terrassa (time and room to be defined) and will be divided in two activities:

- YOUNG TALKS. Young researchers will have the chance to present their works related to light, Optics and Photonics from bachelor, master and PhD degree. The participation will not be limited to scientific and technological works; it will be opened to any field that uses light in some way, as in Arts, for instance. This activity will consist of 5-minute oral presentations and the submission of an abstract at area.joven.sedoptica@gmail.com is required; the deadline is the 14th April 2020. - SCIENTIFIC CAFÉ. Meritxell Vilaseca (CD6-UPC), Pablo Loza (ICFO) and Roger Malet (AEInnova SL) will tell us about their professional careers in the field of Optics and Photonics, and the young attendees will have the chance to make them any kind of questions in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. The attendance to both activities will be opened to everyone, but focused on bachelor, master and PhD students and also to young PhDs.
