ABSTRACT: In this talk I’ll share with you my professional journey after finishing my MSc in Photonics back in 2014. During this period of time I’ve studied two more master courses, I’ve done a PhD, one post-doc, I lived abroad in the US and UK, I’ve taught in the University, I've done more than 20 job interviews and I worked for industry in the fields of Optical Metrology and Medical Devices. This aims to be an informal open-discussion session with the hope of shining more light into the next steps in your career.

Carles Otero is responsible for the Scientific Communications in Europe, Middle East and Africa at Alcon, a world-leader Medical Device company in the field of Ophthalmology. Prior to that, he worked in the field of Optical Microscopy at Sensofar-Tech as an International Application Specialist and also as a Post-Doctoral Vision Scientist in the UK. Carles holds a Bachelor's Degree in Optics and Optometry, MSc in Photonics, MSc in Biostatistics and a PhD in Optical Engineering. Currently he is studying a MSc in Marketing and Sales management.
